Dear friends & colleagues,
Our bold vision is becoming reality, thanks to our generous supporters.
Last year, we celebrated the opening of our Yawkey Housing Resource Center (HRC) in Quincy and broke ground on our HRC in Brockton. We’ve also started to expand our triage team in Plymouth, an important step as we try to replicate our progress in Quincy and Brockton.
For individual adults facing a housing crisis, we are replacing a reactive overnight shelter approach with a cost-effective and compassionate housing resource model. Our HRC day centers offer wraparound supports and targeted services that are designed to prevent or quickly end homelessness, not just manage it.
As you’ll read in this report, our transformative HRCs are the centerpiece of a new three-year Strategic Plan that we’ve begun to implement. By believing in our vision, our donors, volunteers, and community partners are helping us create a national model in the fight to end homelessness.
Our supporters have allowed us to be nimble and decisive. This past year, while stretching our capacity to help the state of Massachusetts respond to an unprecedented family shelter crisis, we’ve continued pursuing exciting opportunities to develop new permanent supportive housing.
Whether it’s meeting a moment of crisis or helping shape the future, FBMS continues to serve as a trusted and innovative leader in our region. We thank our dedicated supporters for strengthening our mission.
