[BROCKTON, Mass., June 22, 2026] — Father Bill's & MainSpring (FBMS) is pleased to announce the appointment of James "Jamie" Downey, CPA, CFA, to its Board of Directors.
Downey is a Partner at Downey & Company, LLP, a certified public accounting and business advisory firm based in Braintree, Massachusetts. He co-leads a team of 11 professionals providing accounting, tax planning, and business advisory services to family businesses and middle-market clients throughout New England. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Bank of Canton and is actively involved in the management of several real estate trusts.
A CPA and CFA with more than 30 years of experience, Downey brings deep expertise in public accounting, taxation, financial reporting, strategic advisory services, real estate investment, and asset management. In addition to his professional accomplishments, he serves as Trustee of Clover Realty Trust, which provides housing to more than 70 individuals.
Downey said his commitment to housing stability and community impact drew him to Father Bill's & MainSpring's mission.
"Stable housing is a foundational need. When people lack housing security, it creates barriers to employment, healthcare, education, and family stability," said Downey. "Father Bill's & MainSpring addresses the root causes of homelessness through emergency shelter, supportive housing, and long-term solutions that help people build a stronger future. I am honored to join the Board and contribute my financial and real estate experience to support the organization's continued impact."
Downey's background in financial oversight and real estate asset management aligns closely with FBMS's strategic focus on expanding housing opportunities and strengthening organizational sustainability.
"Jamie brings an exceptional combination of financial expertise, governance experience, and a deep understanding of housing and real estate," said John Yazwinski, President & CEO of Father Bill's & MainSpring. "As we continue to expand our housing solutions and services across the region, his insight and leadership will be invaluable. We are thrilled to welcome him to our Board of Directors."
Downey is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the CFA Institute. He earned his undergraduate degree from Bentley University and completed Boston University's Commercial Real Estate Program.
