FBMS currently operates more than 700 permanent supportive housing units across Southern Massachusetts.
These units are intended for most vulnerable neighbors and our shelters' long-term stayers (more than six months) who often require deeper financial assistance with more intensive supports to resolve their homelessness. In our housing, 97% of tenants remain housed for at least one year.
Individuals, families, and Veterans staying in these units pay 30% of their income toward rent and receive stabilization services from an FBMS case manager. Stabilization services help our tenants address some of the challenges that contributed to their homelessness in the first place, such as access to health care, employment, transportation barriers, etc.
