In 2022, Father Bill’s & MainSpring (FBMS) is hosting a series of Supporter Receptions to recognize our generous supporters and welcome new difference-makers. Visit helpfbms.org/hope to learn more.

We also hold smaller events throughout the year, including our Workforce Development Career Fair and Celebration, a bi-annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, and grand openings for our growing permanent supportive housing portfolio. We welcome the opportunity to discuss how our corporate partners can be involved with and/or recognized at these events. Some examples are:

  • Donate space to host or underwrite costs of an event
  • Participate in our Career Fair as a vendor
  • Send representatives to attend an event

If you’re interested in discussing any of these opportunities, contact Catie Reilly, Chief Development Officer, at 508-427-6448 x2235 or email cmreilly@helpfbms.org.

Hosting a drive for essential items is great teambuilding activity that helps involve your company in supporting our mission. Members of our Development team are available to advise you on how to most effectively run a drive. We can recommend items currently needed.  In some instances, we can help develop materials or promote your drive on social media, helping you spread the word about the philanthropic efforts of your company! At the culmination of your drive, we can also arrange for a staff person to come speak with your group. Learn more about our Speakers Bureau below.

To get started, download our Wish List and contact us at 508-427-6448 or email info@helpfbms.org.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Volunteer”][vc_column_text]

We welcome the opportunity to host corporate groups for one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities. Corporate groups can help serve meals at one of our shelters, provide landscaping and outdoor cleanup at our properties, basic painting at one of our sites, and other small group activities. For more information, visit our Volunteer Page.

Father Bill’s & MainSpring welcomes the opportunity to speak with company employees about our work and issues related to homelessness through representation from our Speakers Bureau. We have a diversity of skilled staff, program participants and presentations available to help facilitate a better understanding of this complex societal problem. We work with each group to tailor a presentation to meet their needs, ensuring it is both informative and suitable for that particular audience. Often times, presentations are made in conjunction with a drive for items or volunteer opportunity, which helps give hands on involvement with our mission.

If you’re interested in arranging for a speaker, please contact Patrick Ronan, Community Relations & Marketing Manager, at 508-427-6448 x2289 or email pronan@helpfbms.org.

Matching Gifts

One of the best ways to encourage employee giving is through a matching gift program, which allows someone’s gift to double or even triple! Some companies even match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses, or will match volunteer hours served at FBMS. We encourage all of our corporate partners to notify employees when this option is available.

To find out if your company has a matching gift program, enter your employer’s name:

United Way
Father Bill’s & MainSpring receives funding from United Way of Greater Plymouth County and United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley, as well as from those employees designate FBMS as a beneficiary of their United Way giving. Please contact your local United Way if you’re interested in starting a workplace giving campaign.

Create Your Own…

There are many ways companies have inspired their employees to raise money for causes they believe in. Some examples are:

  • “Casual Dress Day” – ask employees to donate a small sum of money in exchange for the opportunity to wear jeans or casual dress for that day;
  • Raffle tickets to a sporting event with proceeds donated to FBMS;
  • Pick a month with various fun-filled themes dedicated to items we always need at the shelters, such as toiletries, towels, sheets, etc. (see our wish list here).
