Fiscal Year 2025 was a year of progress and transition for Father Bill’s & MainSpring—one that strengthened the full range of support we provide while advancing new solutions to homelessness.
This year, we completed and opened the Smith Family Housing Resource Center (HRC) in Brockton, marking the closing of the MainSpring House and the beginning of a new chapter in our work. The HRC model brings shelter, meals, healthcare, and support services together in one place, allowing us to respond more effectively to people in crisis and move them toward stability. Adjacent to the center, Yawkey Hall, a 32-unit supportive housing community, opened its doors, expanding access to housing with support.
At the same time, our Family Programs helped 103 families secure housing. Employment continued to be a key pathway out of homelessness, with 64 individuals securing jobs through our workforce programs.
With a strong and growing housing network, we helped individuals and families not only secure housing but maintain it—reinforcing the importance of long-term support in achieving stability.
Our shelters remained a vital point of entry for those in crisis, offering safety, nourishment, and a pathway forward. We also proudly served veterans, providing the housing and services needed to help them regain stability and independence.

Ashley’s world changed overnight when a sudden health crisis left her without work, without housing, and fighting for her life.
After months in the hospital and nowhere stable to recover, she reached out to FBMS—where a dedicated team moved quickly to secure her a home. With safe housing, her health began to improve, her anxiety eased, and she finally qualified for the liver transplant list. Today, Ashley is rebuilding her life with strength, gratitude, and renewed hope.
Immacula’s journey is one of courage, perseverance, and a mother’s determination to build a safe life for her child.
While pregnant and facing housing instability, she connected with FBMS, where a dedicated case manager walked beside her through every challenge. With support, stability, and a housing voucher, Immacula and her daughter Emilie moved into a home of their own—a place filled with comfort, security, and hope for the future. Today, Immacula is focused on raising her energetic toddler and pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse.
Mark’s journey is one of resilience, loss, and an unexpected second chance.
After years of compounding grief, a mental health crisis, and the loss of nearly everything he owned, Mark arrived at FBMS on what he calls his “quantum leap” day. With support, compassion, and a team who took the time to understand his story, Mark rediscovered stability, reconnected with his Veterans benefits, and moved into a home of his own. Today, he’s rebuilding his life with music, community, and hope.

FBMS is committed to ending and preventing homelessness in Southern Massachusetts with a range of programs that provide emergency and permanent housing and help people obtain skills, jobs, housing, and supportive services. We help people who are struggling with homelessness or are at risk of homelessness achieve self-sufficiency.
