Annual Report - A Path Home

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The last few years have been among the most consequential in our 40-year fight to end homelessness.

Amid a grueling pandemic and record inflation, Father Bill’s & MainSpring (FBMS) broke ground on our innovative Yawkey Housing Resource Center in Quincy; we set the stage for a similar development in Brockton; and we converted an underutilized hotel into housing, the first-of-its-kind in the state.

We are transforming how our region approaches homelessness.

And we are here because of our community, which has generously invested in our vision for the future while helping us respond to the immediate challenges at our front door. Our community’s impact is on display throughout this report.

In this report you will also read about our new 3-year Strategic Plan to fully realize our transition from a reactive, emergency shelter response to a proactive, housing-based approach. This transition began over a decade ago when our leadership outlined a bold plan to shift to a housing resource model and to produce more permanent supportive housing.

We will continue this progress while investing in our greatest asset – FBMS employees – and committing to our mission’s core values of diversity, equity and inclusion.

We are providing a path home for individuals and families facing a housing crisis. We move forward with confidence because our community is steadfast in its belief that Nobody Should Be Homeless.
